Your baseball record.
Guest play uses a private, first-party browser cookie to save your daily game and streaks. Clearing it or changing browsers creates a new guest identity. Guests are not identified across devices. Guest credentials expire after one year.
Optional Google accounts
Google supplies a stable sign-in identifier, name and optional picture. We store a hashed identifier, an editable display name, picture URL, join date and hashed session credentials. We do not request email scope, store email addresses, passwords, Google access tokens or refresh tokens. Google handles your Google credentials. Loading a profile picture contacts Google; we send no page referrer.
Account sessions expire after 30 days. Google sign-in requires configuration by the owner and remains unavailable until configured. The hosting platform may separately require ChatGPT access while this site remains private; Google sign-in does not bypass that access policy.
Game records and sharing
We store daily progress, deadlines, accepted answers, server-awarded points, completed scores and streaks. Incorrect guesses are not retained. These records power your saved history, anonymous daily averages, score distributions and player-question rarity estimates. Shared statistics do not expose individual profiles, emails or sign-in identifiers. Display names are intended for future public features; there is no public player directory now.
Linking a guest to Google requires proof of the same browser identity and a verified Google sign-in. Existing account results take priority for overlapping daily games; duplicate guest results are removed. A completed guest game can replace an unfinished account game. Non-overlapping saved progress transfers. The seven answers and original scoring values of the retained games stay intact.
Practice answers and results stay in your browser. We store the number of practice games started, their request IDs, question IDs and special-question rotation numbers to keep the practice schedule consistent across retries and signed-in devices. Guest practice counts follow the browser cookie. These records do not affect daily scores or streaks.
Retention and deletion
Saved games remain while the player identity exists; clearing browser cookies alone does not delete server records. Guest records currently have no automatic inactivity purge. Account deletion permanently removes the profile, provider identity, sessions, games, accepted answers, rarity contributions, practice scheduling records and streaks from the live database. Daily aggregates are reduced accordingly; we do not retain a per-player score archive. An opaque retired identity tombstone prevents stale requests recreating deleted records. Expired OAuth attempts are removed on subsequent sign-in attempts; expired sessions are rejected.
Frozen daily challenges, including already published rarity tiers, remain unchanged. Infrastructure backups and logs follow the hosting provider’s retention controls; immediate erasure from backups is not guaranteed. For privacy requests or support, contact bluejaysben@gmail.com. Infrastructure recovery and retention depend on the hosting provider’s controls.
Signing out revokes this browser’s account session and clears locally cached account game records. Other devices remain signed in until they sign out, expire or the account is deleted. Google-linked history can be restored by signing in again. A deleted account cannot restore its history.
